Focke Meler approached bigD to redesign the manual hot melt applicator, pursuing two main objectives: ergonomic improvement and aesthetic improvement.
The project has achieved a quality leap in the appearance and usability of the product, thanks to an agile and iterative process of design / prototyping / validation.

A functional product, but obsolete
Very few formal or functional innovations have been introduced in the applicator market in the last 30 years. While hoses and fusion machines have evolved enormously in terms of technology, most applicators have remained unchanged.

The future of hot melt applicators
Its cylindrical design emerges as a natural extension of the pumping hose, making it the perfect tool for applying hot melt adhesive.
The applicator allows a top and bottom hose entry to rotate 360° with respect to the hose, it has a trigger lock, a bluetooth module for connectivity and high temperature resistant thermoplastics.
